Presentations from the Pre-Proposal Conference held on February 2, 2006 and the Lessons Learned Workshop held the same day have been posted.


January 31, 2006

The Discovery Program will hold a Lessons Learned Mini-Workshop on Feb. 2 at 2:30 at the Holiday Inn Capitol, 550 C Street SW, Washington, DC 20024. Dr. Michael A'Hearn, PI of the Deep Impact Mission, and Dr. Sean Solomon, PI of the MESSENGER Mission, will lead a discussion of their experiences as Discovery Program PIs. This workshop is open to all interested parties.


January 3, 2006

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Science Mission Directorate (SMD) has released a NASA Announcement of Opportunity (AO), for the Discovery Program 2005 and Missions of Opportunity. NASA intends to select a Discovery mission to launch by October 1, 2013. A Mission of Opportunity may also be selected. The Discovery Program AO solicits investigations that meet the goals of planetary system(s) exploration encompassing the scientific objectives of the NASA Solar System Division (excluding Mars) and the search for extrasolar planetary systems element of the NASA Universe Division.
